Garden of a Soul

This exhibition at Galerie Grolman marked my first solo show. Garden of a Soul is a body of abstract paintings that traces the relationship between inner and outer transformation. The work questions human centrality, opening a metaphysical space in which I reflect on the shifting relations between ego and soul, earth and human life. Drawing on Sufi thought and Qurʾanic references as conceptual anchors, the work is guided by an Indigenous futurist lens. As painting is approached as a method for holding complexity, colour and texture mediate between meaning, perception, and imagination. The visual language dissolves and reconfigures boundaries, between the individual and the collective, nature and human, calculation and imagination.
